Jasper’s First Snow

Hey Jasper- about a week ago, Seattle experienced a Snowmageddon of sorts with 3 days of snow over 5 days. The weather gave you your first taste of the cold and white stuff.

I was able to catch this sweet moment between you & mama.

I don't know what this thing on my head is, but I kinda like it.

Wow Jaspy… 2/3 of a year. The time really has flown by; the past month especially. You’ve been eating more and more and solids (we just tried peas for the first time yesterday) and you’re becoming increasingly mobile as each day passes.

With Christmas and The New Year right around the corner, we sat you in front of our beautiful Noble Fir tree for your 8 month picture.

It is so much fun for mama & papa to watch you grow and progress. Every day we are able to notice the smallest advances in your little world; whether it is crawling to mama, pulling yourself up onto papa’s lap, or simply cooing in your crib keeping yourself entertained at 5:23 in the morning waiting for your parents to wake up.

As each day goes by, we love you so much more and we are excited for your first Christmas and January 1st with us as a family.

Guess Who is 4 Months Old?

Hey Jasper, you’re 4 months old today. Your Mama and I cannot believe how fast the time has flown and how quickly you are growing and progressing.

In the past few weeks you’ve been to Lake Chelan and Sunriver, OR. It’s a slow pace to get you up to loving to travel like Mama & Papa but we’re pretty sure we’ve got you on the right path.

You’re developing your own little personality; you’re holding your head up, coo’ing, smiling. You’re starting to grab things and suck on your fist. And we caught your first giggle on video (which Mama has watched “6 billion times”). You also love to pass the time on walks with Mama during the day and playing with your blue peacock named Jon. Even though you haven’t quite made it, you are so darn close to rolling over.

Today, we went to visit your doctor for your 4-month check up. After getting your DTaP immunization, we learned that you are now on the regular growth chart for a 4-Month Old after tipping the scales at 11lb, 9oz and being 24 inches long. We no longer need to use your adjusted age for plotting your growth (but you would be in the 90th percentile for length and 50th for weight if we did).

It’s been a learning experience for all of us for the past 16 and a half weeks, but we are so happy to be growing as parents as you grow into a little boy. We can’t imagine that we have ever lived a life without you in it.

My goal was to show my favorite photos from 2010. And I wanted to do it on January 1st. Then I was shooting for January 15th, then the 30th.

I wanted to have it be my 50 Faves, but I couldn’t pare down over 6,000 photos that much. So, I have 53.
