Sad Times for Beer Club

By Mike, September 18, 2008 12:47 pm

This is deserving of its own post.

  • No one wanted to do the Crawl Pt II.
  • Most everyone is wussing out on the 6 x Dogfish Head 120 Day.

Sad times.

A Quick Update

By Mike, September 18, 2008 12:14 pm

Last weekend Kirsten and I went to see Michael Franti & Spearhead at Marymoor Park. Good times. I think he is a great artist. It was a gorgeous evening and dinner from RoRo’s was perfect. Later this week we found out that Michael Franti is our neigbor’s brother-in-law. Small world.

Saturday & Sunday we went up to “the cabin” for the weekend with Andy & Beth and Isaac & Nicole. Good friends, good food, good booze, fun time. Check out this picture from Saturday afternoon when we went swimming in 55 degree water

I lost in ALL FOUR of my fantasy football leagues last week. Not fun. I hate you tom Brady. That has never happened before.

Things at WaMu are a little hectic with all the buy-out/merger rumors. I’ll keep everyone up to date if any Mike-centric news goes down.

On the travel side, K & I are headed to San Diego next week. We just booked tickets to Cancun for November to head to Playa Del Carmen (or who knows where specifically). I’m pricing tickets to head to Philly for Phil’s Bachelor Party.

If you’re in Seattle on October 12th, I think you should sign up for Miles for Midwives. The Fun Run will be around the 2.8 mile loop at Seward Park. It’s a benefit run for the Washington Chapter of Nurse Midwives to celebrate National Midwifery Week. Go ahead, register, Sign up now (it’s only $20).

College Football Recap

By Mike, September 2, 2008 12:44 pm

It was the first weekend of College Football and my lowly Villanova Wildcats traveled to Morgantown, WV to play the Mountaineers who were ranked #8. Villanova lost, but only by 27 points (they managed to score 21).

Some interesting stats for that game include Villanova outgaining WVU in First Downs (26 v. 21) and Total Net Yards (399 v. 354).

  • Washington lost to the #21 Oregon by 34.
  • Washington State lost to unranked Oklahoma State by 26.
  • Therefore, it is my analysis that Villanova is a better football team than Washington and Washington State. QED.

Driving 100 Miles in August

By Mike, September 1, 2008 12:44 pm

Well heck, even though I gave up on committing to driving under 100 miles in the month of August, I ended up driving 285 miles through the month.
